Eat Local Nebraska Challenge

From September 1st - 30th let's enjoy, cook, purchase, and share more locally grown food. The Local Food Challenge is a way for Nebraskans to make a 30 day commitment to local food. That commitment looks different for every person - it could be learning more about local agriculture by going on a farm or garden tour, it could also mean challenging yourself to eat a locally grown product with every meal. By registering for the challenge you are committing to do what you personally can to eat more locally grown food and discover why it’s important to you.

When you register for the challenge you’ll receive resources to help you find and use locally grown food. Along with resources you’ll receive a Local Food Activity Sheet. Complete as many challenge squares on your activity sheet as you can during the month of September.

For fun and camaraderie, share photos of your local food activities, meals and celebrations on our Facebook group @NebraskaLocalFoodChallenge, or use the hashtag #EatLocalNebraska.

When you register for the challenge you will be entered into drawings to win local food prizes! Drawings will be held the first week of October.
